Vegan Cheese Alternative
It has come to my attention that you use Lisanatti soy cheese. When researching this product, it comes to my attention that it contains Casien, a milk derived protein. There are many wonderful melty vegan cheeses on the market: Dayia, Teese, Follow Your Heart, etc. There is also the option of making your own, like Lanesplitters does. A switch to one of these brands would expand your costumer base exponentially since there are so many vegans here, and you would be the only place I know of in the area who would carry a vegan Chicago-style pizza and I would be willing to venture into SF from the east bay to experience such a thing. Thank you for reading my suggestion; I hope to become a customer.

Hello everyone - we are happy to announce that Daiya Vegan Cheese (http://www.daiyafoods.com) is now available at two Patxi's Chicago Pizza locations: Fillmore and Hayes Valley. It will be arriving soon at our Palo Alto location (probably next week).
To be clear: Daiya Vegan Cheese is available at both San Francisco locations, and will be coming soon to Palo Alto. We'll make another announcement when Daiya is available at our Palo Alto location.

Also, everyone please be clear: we have not switched to the vegan cheese yet. We will announce it when we do. We want to avoid any confustion here. The current soy cheese is NOT vegan and we have not switched to the new cheese yet. Wait for the announcement that will come sometime in May.

Hello everyone! We are absolutely going to add Daiya cheese - and soon. Here's the deal: we've tested out the cheese and have placed the order. We are also in the process of updating our menu. The Daiya cheese will be replacing our soy cheese option on the menu (and that will be reflected on the new menu). However, we will have the Daiya cheese "live" before the new menu is published. The day we do the switchover to the Daiya vegan cheese, we'll Tweet it, post it here, and post it on our facebook page. So follow us on twitter to be the first to know.
All of our crust and sauce is already vegan, so this cheese is the last component for the truly vegan pizza. We've been wanting to do this for a long time, but until Daiya came along, the quality was just not there. So, we're super excited to be able to do a vegan pie for all of you vegan pizza lovers!!!
Expect the announcement before the end of May!

1Oh my goodness! Daiya would be amazing! There are so few vegan pizzas in this city. Patxi's, you would get mad business from this change. As a neighbor of your Hayes Valley location, you would be gaining two new and very excited customers (me and my husband) + a host of vegan friends and contacts who I'd be notifying about this. Love it! I've been in twice. I have a few friends who aren't the biggest daiya fans, but they just order with light (daiya) cheese and it's fine. I like it with lots. Your pizza is great. That crust. Oh man.

1We've had a few inquiries about the "butter" we use on the deep-dish pans. We use high quality 100% vegan butter for our pans. So, yes, when we say our Vegan pizzas are 100% vegan, we mean it!
